Adaware Review – Does Adaware Really Work?

It is manufactured by cybersecurity provider Lavasoft (formerly popularly known as Ad-Aware) Adaware’s goal is to combat the kinds of rogue apps and privacy invasions that many users aren’t even aware. Adaware is a suite of programs that monitor your browsing habits, programs that hijack the browser start page and apps that display annoying advertising at the worst times. This free application comes with several options that will increase your device’s security and ensure that it runs smoothly.

In our tests, adaware was able to detect the majority of malware we tried to throw at it. However, it had difficulty eliminating certain malware. The program has a few useful extras, like privacy monitors and a registry scanner. It also comes with an advanced file shredder, network monitoring, as well as a privacy monitor. Adaware doesn’t offer as much protection as the leading antivirus software.

The last time adaware took part in AV-Test lab tests, it managed to block only ninety five. 4.4% of 0-day threats and 97% known risks. These aren’t awful scores however they don’t compare to the most powerful security suites do.

Adaware users looking for better performance should look into alternatives. We suggest Kaspersky and Bitdefender both of which are well-known for their reliability and performance in real-world tests. Additionally, only Pro and Total plan users get access to online technical and customer support, which can be a bit disappointing to some users. The company does provide a variety of information and frequently asked questions on its website, though.
